HELLENIC LEAGUE: Purton solve keeper issue

JOHNNY Cowley is to stand in between the sticks for Purton against Tytherington today following Gary Stevens’ departure for Highworth.

Cowley was the Red House side’s stopper for the majority of last season but has played outfield of late.

Purton boss Chris Pethick said: “We’re still looking for a long-term solution but I’ve every confidence Johnny will do a good job for now.”

Meanwhile, Chippenham have signed former Swindon Town youth player Jake Simpson. The Bluebirds have also released Stuart Tovey.
