FOUR Wiltshire riders have been named in Great Britain's squad of 18 for this year's FEI Nations Cup Series.
A team of four, with a travelling reserve, will be selected by team manager Philip Surl and eventing performance manager Yogi Breisner to represent Great Britain at each event.
Lower Stanton St Quintin rider Kitty King, 31, who was recently included on the UK Sport-funded World Class Programme is picked, as is Reybridge 20-year-old David Doel, who narrowly missed out on making his Nations Cup debut last year.
West Littleton-based rider Harry Meade, 30, is also included, along with 22-year-old Tom McEwen who is based at Badgerstown near Swindon.
Laura Collett, 24, who recently moved her base from the Membury Estate to Windy Hollow Stables in Lambourn, is also in the squad.
- SWEDISH eventer Ludwig Svennerstal has relocated from Buckinghamshire to Badgerstown to base himself with Sir Mark Todd.
The young rider, 23, has propelled himself up the rankings since starting British Eventing in 2010.
Svennerstal took part in his first four-star event towards the end of the following season.
The Swede secured his place on the Swedish team for the London 2012 Olympics and further cemented his standing when in 2013 he helped his team to silver in the European Championships on home turf in Malmo.
Svennerstal recently sold his Olympic ride Shamwari to the USA to fund a younger replacement with Rio in mind, but the Swede still has a strong stable of six horses, with King Bob and Alexander IV competitive at four-star, aiming for the Badminton Horse Trials in May.
