RYAN Watt is hoping that Swindon Wildcats can maintain their perfect record against Bracknell Bees when the two sides clash at the Link Centre tomorrow night (5.45pm).

The resurgent Wildcats have defeated their Berkshire visitors three times already this season, 2-1 in the EPL Cup and 6-3 twice in the league last month.

Watt, who returned to the club in October after being released by Slough Jets having played for the Wildcats in 2008/09 and 2010/11, said: “I went to watch the first game between Swindon and Bracknell before I came back.

“I was impressed with them and it actually helped me make my mind up to sign for the club again and I’m enjoying being back.”

The forward has helped Swindon climb to fifth position in the EPL and believes that although the top four sides - Manchester Phoenix, Basingstoke Bison, Guildford Flames and Milton Keynes – have cut away from the rest of the league, the Link Centre outfit can maintain their course to the play-offs.

“The top four are out on their own,” he said. “But if we can keep winning our home games and pick up points on the road then we can make the play-offs.

“Once you are there, it’s all to play for. If you win four matches then you win the whole thing.”

The Wildcats go into tomorrow night’s clash on the back of a 3-2 success over the Scot’s former club last Sunday, but Watt says that it could have been a completely different story had it not been for netminder Stevie Lyle.

“He made an absolutely stunning save at the end,” Watt said. “Slough made us work for the whole 60 minutes.

“Slough might not have the top end guys like they used too, but they are still a tough team to beat.

“We have got a few homes coming up now and if we can win those then it will make teams sit up and take note – they won’t want to come to Swindon.”
