May helps England to triple crown

This Is Wiltshire: May helps England to triple crown May helps England to triple crown

JONNY May played a part as England claimed their first triple crown in 11 years with a 29-18 victory over Wales at Twickenham yesterday.

The former Bassett junior started on the wing once again for Stuart Lancaster’s side, as first half tries from Danny Care and Luther Burrell gave the home side a 20-15 advantage at the break.

A superb kicking performance from Owen Farrell punished an error-strewn Welsh performance in the second half, putting England level on points with Ireland and France at the top of the Six Nations table with one round of matches remaining.

An Irish win in Paris next week would almost certainly send the title to Dublin while a big English win in Italy and a narrow one for Ireland could yet see England top the pile. If France beat Ireland then any England win should secure the title.
