SUPERMARINE under-16 hosted Royal Wootton Bassett counterparts intending to test their opposition as both teams were enjoying successful seasons.

Bassett took control of the game in the first half running in five tries to take a led 31-0 into the half. Sam Haskell notably converted with two immaculate kicks from the touchline.
Due to Bassett changes and injuries in the second half the nature of the game changed. Supermarine battled hard, gained territory and fluency resulting in them scoring two converted tries. Bassett struck back with a try late in the game to complete a 36-14 victory.
Captain Cian Erry scored a hat-trick as Bassett under-15s front five laid the platform for a dominant performance in a 39-22 over Walcot/Avonvale. It was Bassett’s most fluent performance of the season as they ran in six tries.
Bassett under-14s imposed themselves against their highly rated visitors with two unanswered tries in the first-half on Friday evening.
Two more in the second-half, one converted meant the game finished 22-0 to their hosts.
Bassett Colts maintained their four point lead at the top of Dorset & Wilts Division 2 North with a 16-5 win over Devizes. David Beal scored an early try and full back Tom Fieldsend kicked 11 points. Devizes scored a late consolation try.
At minis level Bassett travelled to local rivals Swindon for competitive series of fixtures. Bassett highlights included a 20-45 victory at under-12 level whilst at under-10 level Bassett ran in six tries to one against Swindon before playing Thatcham and securing victory in a thrilling 5-4 match.
