It was try after try but unfortunately not for Supermarine as were handed a heavy 58-0 defeat on their travels to London Welsh.

The conditions for rugby were perfect but the sun was not shining on Supermarine.

Supermarine collected the ball from kick-off but the opposition’s forwards pushed up quickly to put the pressure on, pinning Marine in their own half.

It didn’t take long before the London Welsh put the first try on the board as the home side played the ball out wide quickly allowing them to get round the outside for the score.

The second half was much of the same with a number of tries being run in out wide.

Both teams were playing good rugby but London Welsh had the edge throughout the contest.

Marine’s players of the match were hooker Amy Chipperfield and prop Fran Brewer who both put in fantastic performances with both of them pushing hard until the end in each scrum.

The defeat was also notable for Kate Scorer, who made her Supermarine debut, and Katie Hart, who was playing her first senior game for the side after graduating from the youth team.

Supermarine now have break for a few weeks until their next match against Wimbledon.
