Pedersen is Bjarne ready, says Robins' Nicolai
BJARNE Pedersen will do the business for Swindon Robins this evening, according to his fellow Dane Nicolai Klindt.
Former Grand Prix star Pedersen has been drafted in by team boss Alun Rossiter as a replacement for captain Troy Batchelor who is on world championship duty in New Zealand, while Cameron Woodward is in for Chris Harris for the Bees for the same reason.
Pedersen has a good record around the Abbey Stadium, having won the Bob Kilby Memorial meeting in 2012 and finished on the podium in the Elite League Riders Championship, which fills Klindt with plenty of confidence.
“I think we’ll have a slight advantage because as a team we have done one meeting and they’ve not ridden yet,” he said.
“Some of them have done Premier League stuff but Hans hasn’t had one yet, and that could help us.
“It’s a shame we don’t have Batch in the team but I’ve seen we’ve got Bjarne riding for us and he always goes well around Swindon. Bjarne is also a good team man who looks after you and tries to help.
“I’m sure he will do a good job and Rosco has done a good job in getting the right guest.”
Klindt is also looking forward to finally racing at the Abbey Stadium after last week’s Elite Shield clash was called off due to the threat of rain.
“I’m really looking forward to it because it was a shame our first home meeting against Poole was called off and it’s always good to ride in front of the home fans,” he said.
“I think I did okay at Lakeside so I should do a lot better in this meeting, I hope so anyway. Hopefully we don’t get caught by the weather again.”
