THE Angling Trust Southern Semi-final on the Kennet & Avon Canal at Marlborough saw Kamasan Starlets take team honours with 66 points followed by Daiwa Dorking with 63 and Daiwa Gordon League (59), writes COLIN SCULL.

The individual prize went to Dave Micklewright of Daiwa Gordon League with 22 lb 4 oz of perch, followed by Nigel Evans, of Preston Innovation Thatchers, with 17 lb 4 oz of perch and skimmers.

Mark Gaylard, of Daiwa Gordon League, was third with 13 lb 1 oz of skimmers.

Other placings: 4. Steve Tubb Arun Angling 12 lb 14 oz; =5. Simon Willsmore Daiwa Dorking & Troy weaver Daiwa Gordon League 11 lb 11 oz.

ROOD Ashton was in sparkling form for Sunday’s Wilts Angling Open match as Sean Rhodes, from Trowbridge, carried off top prize with 168 lb 14 oz of carp.

Tony Gilbert, from Melksham, came in secondwith 152 lb 10 oz of carp, with Kevin Rowles, from Devizes, third with 148 lb of carp.

Other placings: 4. Nathaniel Johnson Melksham 137 lb 6 oz; 5. Pete Neate Holt 124 lb 4 oz; 6. Ian Willetts Bradford 118 lb 14 oz.

SUNDAY’S Todber Manor Open match produced excellent sport and was won by Ashley Tomkins, of Tackle UK, with 150 lb 6 oz of carp.

Frank Donachie, of Colmic, was runner up with 129 lb 4 oz of carp, with Glen Picton, from Swindon, third with 122 lb 14 oz of carp.

Other placings: 4. Mark Poppleton Trowbridge 121 lb 12 oz; 5. Nick Chedzoy Preston Innovation Thatchers 111 lb 10 oz; 6. Tom Ince Trowbridge 93 lb 14 oz.
