SWINDON Robins have drafted in Benji Compton to replace the unavailable Steve Worrall for Good Friday’s Elite League double-header with Poole Pirates.

The 27-year-old has been riding for the Kent Kings in the National League and Robins team boss Alun Rossiter is hoping that he will be able to fit straight in.

Worrall, on the other hand, has made an impressive start to the season for the Abbey Stadium team and he has also been performing well for the Edinburgh Monarchs in the Premier League and for Dudley Heathens in the National League.

“It is a blow not to have Stevie,” Rossiter said. “He cleaned up at Scunthorpe (for Dudley) the other night and he has been getting some big scores for Edinburgh.

“Because of how the averages are we’re restricted with who we can bring in, but Benji has a lot of experience and should be fine.

“When the averages are looked at I’m expecting Stevie to rise up to about seventh or eighth and that will allow us to bring in a rider with a higher average when he is not available.”

Apart from Compton replacing Worrall, Rossiter has named an unchanged side as Robins look to secure their first away win of the campaign.

Simon Gustafsson and Nick Morris both led the way for Swindon in the 57-36 success over Belle Vue Aces last Thursday.

Reserve Dan Greenwood will be hoping for a better outing for the Robins this week with the youngster spending more time getting to grips with the Blundson track this week.

POOLE PIRATES: Chris Holder, Josh Grajczonek, Przemyslaw Pawlicki, Vaclav Milik, Maciej Janowki, Lee Smart, Kyle Newman.
