THE Thursday Open match at Viaduct Fishery again produced the goods with some cracking carp catches.

Top honours went to Tony Gilbert, from Melksham, with 217 lb 9 oz ahead of Phil Wilkins, of Bath Spartans, with 172 lb 9 oz.

Craig Edmunds, of Avon Angling, took third prize with 166 lb 11 oz, with Dave Romain of Viaduct a close up fourth with 157 lb 10 oz.

The silvers prize went to Ben Hag of Viaduct with a weight of 63 lb 5 oz.

Other placings: 5. Neil Morley MFS 156 lb 7 oz; 6. Dave Webster Viaduct 148 lb 11 oz.

FISH were hard to tempt in the Trowbridge Seniors match fished at Crookwood Lake last Tuesday.

Pete Thomas, from Bristol, carried off top prize with a mixed catch of tench and bream weighing 8 lb.

Pete Craig, from Devizes, took runner up spot with 4 lb 12 oz of tench and skimmers.

Roger Green, from Trowbridge, took third prize with 2 lb 8 oz of roach.

Other placings: 4. Jim Escott Melksham 2 lb 0 oz; 5. Ken Gingell Trowbridge & Dennis Gay Trowbridge 1 lb 8 oz each.

COMPETITORS enjoyed good sport in Sunday’s Wilts Angling Open match fished on Sunday at Todber Manor.

In-form Stuart White, from Chippenham, chalked up another fine win with 148 lb 8 oz of carp.

Fred Roberts, from Yeovil, took runner up prize with 119 lb 12 oz followed by Nick Chedzoy, of Preston Innovation Thatchers, with 111 lb 8 oz of carp.

Other placings: 4. Roland Lucas Frome 99 lb 4 oz; 5. Nathaniel Johnson Melksham 97 lb 12 oz; 6. Dave Bancroft Trowbridge 97 lb 4 oz.
