WRAG Barn’s Ben Loughrey made a disappointing start to his EuroPro Tour campaign at The Belfry yesterday.
Loughrey, 25, carded a score of six-over par in the first round of the The Matchroom Championship - on the Belfry’s Brabazon course.
Starting at the 10th, Loughrey bogeyed his second and fifth holes as he came in with a two-over 38.
Two double bogeys on his back nine saw Loughrey finish on 78 and leaving him a battle to make the cut.
Loughrey’s round saw him tied 110th, some way behind first-round leader Niall Kearney who finished four under.
Fellow Wiltshire golfer Sam Matton from Bowood finished just one shot ahead of Loughrey.
