CIRENCESTER seniors secured a convincing win against Cotswold Hills in their recent match.

Ciren’s skipper Clive Bennett and partner Gordon Stone earned a hard-fought opening match against Bruce Kettle and Noel Furley, triumphing one up.

Three more successes followed, including club captain Mark Whitehead’s six and five win alongside partner Steph Episcopo.

Cotswold Edge’s Bob McKellar and David Ratcliffe got to grips with the Cirencester greens better than their teammates, winning two and one but it was to be the visitors’ only success of the day.

Cirencester took the three remaining matches, the best of which saw John King and Daln Dymond winning five and four thanks to a sparkling golfing performance.

The highlight of the afternoon saw Cirencester’s Mike Staples manage a hole in one at the 11th hole.
