CORSHAM picked up a battling point in the Toolstation League First Division at Wells City last night Keiran Gleed went close for the visitors early on, but Jamie Howson and Darren Maynard also had good chances for City.

Gleed was denied again just before the interval, but Corsham seized the lead on 56 minutes as Jack Morris fired home after a corner hadn’t been fully cleared.

Wells levelled as Mark Randall’s free-kick was met by Ross McErlain, who headed home, and the same player also crashed a later shot against the bar.

Levi Cox struck twice as Wootton Bassett Town beat Newbury 3-1 in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division last night.

Cox put his side ahead as he fired hom from Kyle Rigley’s cross, but the visitors levelled through Kalief Madden.

A 25 yard effort from Cox restored Bassett’s advantage and an own goal in the second half wrapped up the points.

In Division One West, Malmesbury Victoria were held to a 3-3 draw in their final match by North Leigh United.
