NATIONWIDE House once again go in search of their first victory of the new WEPL Wiltshire Division season at Burbage & Easton Royal tomorrow.

Having lost their opening-day match to Devizes, Nationwide saw their scheduled clash with Calne called off due to the inclement weather last weekend and stand-in skipper David Coates is keen to register a notch on his belt before handing the captaincy back to Russ Arkley next week.

He said: “We’re hoping for better weather this week as we make the trip to Burbage. There’s only a couple of changes from the XI selected for last week’s cancellation as Chris Trewhella returns and Kev Flay makes his first appearance of the season.

“As I said before, it will be key for us to get a good total on the board and with a long batting line-up, I’m hoping we kick start our season this week with a solid performance. With availability increasing over the next fortnight, there is definitely a need to put in a performance and cement your place, including myself.

“This will potentially be my last week leading the guys out before Russ returns to take the reins so it would be great to sign off on a high.”
