THE MAKE-UP of the Southern League Premier Division looks set to shift as part of the domino effect caused by Worksop Town's resignation from the Northern League.

Crisis club Worksop have stepped down from the Northern League Premier Division, meaning that Halesowen Town, who were due to switch to Chippenham Town and Frome Town's league, will be staying put in the Northern League.

Corby Town were set to make the move in the opposite direction but will remain in the Southern League, whilst Stourbridge will be transferring to the Northern League.

Stourbridge's replacement is set to be Hayes & Yeading United, who were relegated into the Isthmian League after finishing in the bottom three of the Conference South, but the Surrey side are currently appealing their relegation.

Hayes believe that they should be handed the reprieve received by Oxford City, who were saved from relegation from the Conference North due to Vauxhall Motors' resignation from that level.

Southern League-bound Hayes finished on 45 points in the Conference South last season whilst Oxford, who are due to face Mark Collier's Chippenham in pre-season, notched up 37 points in the Conference North.
