WRAG Barn professional Josh Loughrey is well in contention at the Alps Tour Asiago Open after carding an opening round of three under par.

His superb round of 68 left him tied fourth, just two shots back from leader Jurgen Maurer, with one round to play today. Loughrey made a superb start to his round in Italy with birdies at two and three - both par fives.

He closed out his opening nine with another birdie at the par four ninth but failed to sink any more birdies but parred his way back into the clubhouse to leave himself in good shape with 18 holes to play.

Loughrey begins his second round today at 2.04pm (local time) alongside France’s Thomas Grava and Italy’s Aron Zemmer.
