PK and Batch are safely through
PETER Kildemand and Troy Batchelor both eased into the next round of Grand Prix qualification in Slovenia this afternoon.
The Robins top two were both competing in Ljubljana, where 10 passes through to the semi-final stage were on offer from a field which also included the likes of Matej Zagar, Patryk Dudek, Peter Ljung, Cameron Woodward and Janusz Kolodziej.
Both Robins riders scored 10 points from their five rides to comfortably make it through from a meeting where former Robin Nicolai Klindt was victorious on 13.
Kildemand opened his campaign with a victory in his first ride before two third places followed, but things picked up again in his final two rides as he claimed a victory and then a second place to seal his passage.
Things started a little slower for GP regular Batchelor as he finished third in his opener, but he secured three second places and a heat victory from his four remaining rides to progress without any real drama.
Former Robin Klindt, who guested for the club on Thursday night, won four of his heats and scored a single point in the other as he progressed through to the semi-finals, before beating Zagar in a run-off to win the meeting.
The semis will be held at Polish track Czestochowa and Croatian circuit Gorican on June 21.
