WRAG Barn player Josh Loughrey rallied in his final round to secure a tied-sixth finish at the Asiago Open in Italy.

Having opened with a 68 on Thursday the new professional slipped down the field as he carded a 72 in his second round but, matching his first-round score over his final 18 holes, he improved to finish five-over for the tournament.

Loughrey started his third round well with a birdie on the first and picked up another shot on the third before immediately letting it slip with a bogey on the fourth.

Birdies came at six, eight and 11 to at one stage challenge the leaders but a succession of pars and a dropped shot at 17 ruled him out of the running for the title.

The tournament was eventually won by home player Nino Bertasio, who eventually finished on nine-under over this three rounds.
