MALMESBURY maintained the pressure on leaders Wootton Bassett at the top of the Wiltshire League with an 81-run success over Collingbourne.

James Gillespie fired an unbeaten 104 to help Malmesbury to 260-5 off 45 overs. Josh Langley then took 6-40 as Collingbourne were dismissed for 179, despite Craig Watts scoring 61.

Richard Foley scored an unbeaten 36 and took 3-23 as Box secured a 17-run victory over Swindon Civil Service. Foley’s knock and 58 from Steve Hall saw the villagers to 172-8 from their 45 overs.

Service’s innings ended at 155 in the 41st over, despite Dave Batchelor’s 40. Dave Crawford took 6-36 for Box.

Beanacre & Melksham restricted Swindon Nalgo to 135 all out, despite dropping five catches. Jack Footner (3-11), Steve Rendell (3-31), Dean Wallington (2-28) did the damage. Beanacre had the score racing along until Matt Hunt departed for 19.

Another quick wicket fell before Paul Gilbert (38), Steve Rendell (49 not out) and Gary Burns (25 not out) saw the visitors to a seven-wicket victory with 10 overs to spare.

In Division Two, Swindon United Churches lost their first game of the season as Beckingham claimed a six-wicket victory to take over at the top of the table.

Keith Coatsworth scored 41 and Chris Gilchrist 34 in Churches’ 173-8, which was overhauled in under 40 overs by Beckington, thanks to Carl Harfield's 53. Adam Tooze and Rich Martin took two wickets each.

Wootton Bassett 2nds maintained their unbeaten run in Division Three, as they defeated Beehive (Southwick) by two wickets. Paul Huckin took 4-23 as Mike Spong hit 60 for Beehive in their 171-8.

Mark Vincent scored 57, Scott Twine 28 not out and Ryan Vincent 27 as Bassett got home in the final over.

A good team performance saw Beanacre and Melksham 2nds run out eight-wicket victors over Wanborough. The visitors made a slow start due to tight bowling from Chris Long (3-19) and Gary Ings (3-28), backed up by an energetic fielding performance. John Wiltshire (4-18) came on to finish the Wanborough innings at 73 in 32.5 overs.

In reply, Beanacre suffered the early loss of Tom White but Wiltshire and Steve Day rebuilt the innings. Wiltshire departed for 38, leaving Day and Joe Lewis to complete the victory with a boundary to finish on 77-2 after 17.3 overs.

In Division Four, Lambourn dismissed Buscot Park for just 96 as Paul Annetts (2-8), Steve Munday (3-30) and Bill Willoughby (3-26) did the damage, Annetts scoring an unbeaten 29 as Lambourn squeezed home by one wicket.

Ed Sewell took 3-19 as Swindon B bowled out Blunsdon for 186 in the final one of their 45 overs. Despite 4-38 from Phil Jones, Swindon got home by two wickets as Lee Baden scored 77.

The bowlers dominated White Horse’s clash against Trowbridge A in Division Five, Horse being dismissed for 113 as Stephen Oakley took 5-26 for Trowbridge. Andy Dodson responded by taking 4-3 in just 3.4 overs as Trowbridge were all out for just 52.

Marlborough 3rds continue to lead the way in Division Seven after a 32-run triumph over Westbury 3rds. Andy Crabbe (39) and Ed Puddick (25) helped Marlborough to 118-7, as Adam Osborne took 6-32.

Westbury were dismissed for 86, Simon Chown scoring 22 as Oliver Rawlings took 4-10 and Simon Wells 4-29.

Andy Sandell scored 68 and Allan Webb 55 as Goatacre 4ths defeated Purton 3rds by 31 runs.
