CIRENCESTER Seniors slumped to a narrow defeat against Cotswold Edge recently.
Visiting teams always find the attractive but tricky course on the edge of the Cotswolds tough to handle and Ciren were no exception on June 2, as they went down 3.5-2.5.
Tony Greatorex, making his debut for the seniors, partnered captain Clive Bennett and they were denied an outright win when the Cotswold Edge captain holed a 30-foot put on the last to tie the opening match.
Another newcomer to these matches was Bob Mills, and his partnership with John Anderson yielded a one-up win.
The only other point for Cirencester came from former club captain John Davis and Gerry Bruton, who took their match two-up.
