SWINDON Robins will use rider replacement at number one to help fill the gap left by Peter Kildemand and Troy Batchelor at Leicester on Saturday.

The duo are riding in Croatia in the latest round of Grand Prix qualifying, with the Lions missing Jason Doyle, Mads Korneliussen and newly signed former Robin Nicolai Klindt for the same reason.

Alun Rossiter has already booked Davey Watt as a guest for the clash but, with Leicester having already booked Bjarne Pedersen and Rory Schlein before they declared the meeting would take place, there are no more suitable guests as 19 Elite League riders are bidding to make the GP series this weekend.

Now Rossiter will rely on the remainder of his team to step up and replace their number one.

“Davey Watt is a bit of a trapper, which is what you need at Leicester,” Alun Rossiter said.

“It’s not ideal to go with rider replacement at number one but Nick (Morris) is really good around there and Simon (Gustafsson) is in really good form so hopefully it will be alright.”
