Rosco goes for rider replacment

This Is Wiltshire: Alun Rossiter Alun Rossiter

SWINDON Robins will use rider replacement at number one to help fill the gap left by Peter Kildemand and Troy Batchelor at Leicester on Saturday.

The duo are riding in Croatia in the latest round of Grand Prix qualifying, with the Lions missing Jason Doyle, Mads Korneliussen and newly signed former Robin Nicolai Klindt for the same reason.

Alun Rossiter has already booked Davey Watt as a guest for the clash but, with Leicester having already booked Bjarne Pedersen and Rory Schlein before they declared the meeting would take place, there are no more suitable guests as 19 Elite League riders are bidding to make the GP series this weekend.

Now Rossiter will rely on the remainder of his team to step up and replace their number one.

“Davey Watt is a bit of a trapper, which is what you need at Leicester,” Alun Rossiter said.

“It’s not ideal to go with rider replacement at number one but Nick (Morris) is really good around there and Simon (Gustafsson) is in really good form so hopefully it will be alright.”

wot a farce going into a meeting without your top two. Leicester fans i feel sorry for you paying money to watch a meeting without the 4 best riders being on show. Bspa you need to do something or the sport is going to go down the swaney as people spend there money elsewhere.

With Speedway in meltdown and the powers that be oblivious to that fact, we have had the Eastbourne fiasco's where teams have had to go there without top riders and replace them with novices and now we have the farce of a meeting where there are 5 top riders missing from both teams and yet the BSPA will allow this to continue. I see no point in naming teams of 7 riders as many teams chop and change and always need guest. May be football should do the same and Rooney can play for Chelsea when they have injuries and Suarez can help out at Everton when they are light. BSPA need to get their heads out the sand and start waking up to the fact that our sport is dying and major revamps are urgently needed.

Speedway isn't football, happily. That sport has enough problems of it's own without pretending otherwise.
However, speedway really is a total mess lately. I see no individual out there that is in a position to get a grip on this once great sport. Its so sad but a long lingering death awaits speedway.
