BEN Loughrey enjoyed a solid opening round on the Jamega Tour tournament at Studley Wood.

The Wrag Barn pro finished the first day in Oxford in tied 10th place having shot a one-under-par 71.

Loughrey began his front nine without dropping a shot on the opening seven holes before birdies on eight, nine and 10 put him three-under.

However, on the 15th, Loughrey hit a bogey five to drop his only shot of the day before parring the final three holes.

Fellow Wrag Barn pro Martin Sell was one shot back in tied 13th place.

Sell, like Loughrey, went on to the 11th tee three-under-par having birdied the seventh, ninth and 10th.

But the round started to slip on the 11th as he fired a double-bogey five, before dropping another shot on the 12th.

Sell did manage to pull a shot back on the 18th with a birdie four to finish the day one-under.

But both Wrag Barn men will have it all to do today if the want to claim victory with Jon White leading the way with eight-under-par.
