CROFT Junior Football Club would like to thank all involved with helping to put on their successful five-a-side tournament last weekend.

Between tournament organisers, Julie Sanders, fundraising officer, and Mark Slade, treasurer, they put in more than 100 hours of work into planning and running the tournament which raised nearly £1,000 for Prospect Hospice.

Additional support prior to tournament was also given by Darren Abbott and Rebecca Dunne (printing) and Craig Gorton (admin) Paul Sharpe, Rich Kirby, Gary Sellars and Gorse Hill Clearance (equipment).

The club also wished to thank all of the volunteers at the tournament, as well as staff at Croft Sports Centre together with sponsors Intel and Marriott Hotels.

Next season Croft will be fielding 20 teams, including a new under 21 side, as well as setting up a new under seven age group. The club is always on the lookout for new players so if you are interested in joining or who would like to come along and train then please contact the club and they will pass your details onto the relevant manager.

Those interested in the first instance should contact Craig Gorton on craig.gorton@ntlworld.com. Those specifically interested in the under 21s should contact Gary Sellars on gary@garysellars.orangehome.co.uk, and for the under sevens, Darren Simms on darren.dssims@virginmedia.com.
