WRAG Barn professional Martin Sell missed out on a place at this month’s Open Championship yesterday.
Sell required a top-three finish at the final qualifying event at Hillside Golf Club in Southport.
Sitting comfortably top of the Jamega Tour’s order of merit so far this season, Sell went into the event in confident mood.
Sell began his qualifying campaign for the showpiece event at Hoylake well, as he moved to one under par early on in his opening round to stay in touch of the leaders.
However, the Wrag Barn star failed to build on his steady start and finished his first round with a three-over par 75.
Sell finished his second round on level par to leave him tied 19th and nine shots away from the qualification mark.
