BOWLERS Chris Baker (4-30) and Naeem Khan (3-40) ripped through the Warminster batting to secure Biddestone's 87-run victory over Warminster in the Wadworth 6X West of England League Glos/Wilts Division.

Chasing 212 to win, visitors Warminster lost openers Tom Davie and Miikee Selmes without troubling the scorer and although Peter Hickerton hit 54, he received precious little back-up as their innings was ended on 124 in the 38th over.

Earlier, Dwaine Perry had scored 80 in Biddestone's 211-7, Aled Evans adding an unbeaten 30 as Nick Hembury took 3-48.

Chippenham's good run came to an end with a three-wicket loss at Chipping Sodbury.

Put into bat, Lee Ward's men reached 210 before being dismissed in the second to last over, wicketkeeper Billy Cookson hitting 73 and Paul Bates 54, Chris Willoughby taking 4-31.

Sodbury reached their target for the loss of seven wickets in the 49th over.

Westbury remain in the relegation zone as leaders Lechlade ran out as six-wicket winners.

The home side elected to bat and were all out for 166, Robert Hislop scoring 69 as Paul Godding took 4-24.

Lechlade overhauled the target for the loss of four wickets, former Westbury skipper Joe Breet scoring 64.

Corsham's four-match winning streak in Premier One came to an end as they suffered a convincing 192-run defeat a Downend.

The home side amassed 312-6 from their 50 overs, Callum Loud scoring an unbeaten 85, Michael Bracewell 59 and Curtis Blakemore 54.

For Corsham, Jon Parker and Tom Foley both took two wickets but their reply didn't make it past the 28-over mark.

Ashur Morrison and Sam Collier both scored 25 and opener Toby Davies 22, but 4-30 from Philip Allen and 4-14 from Phil Jackson ripped through their order to leave them all out for 120.

Potterne remain among the challengers for Premier Two honours as they clinched a five-wicket win at Minehead.

Putting their hosts in, Josh De Souza took 5-35 as Minehead were dismissed for 192 in 46 overs, James Weetch scoring an unbeaten 74.

Wicketkeeper/opener James Hendrickson was unbeaten on 54 in the reply, which reached its target in the 38th over, Gedeon Charles adding 32 and Ed Young 28.

Goatacre are still hovering outside the relegation zone as they came unstuck by 32 runs at home to Thornbury.

The visitors were on from with the bat, scoring 365-6 from their 50 overs, thanks mainly to 118 in 80 balls from skipper Richard Trotman, including seven fours and 11 sixes.

Marc Lezar, Nick Willis-Stovold and Luke Davis all scored half-centuries, with two wickets each for Giorgio Rigali, Jack Haines and Matt House.

Goatacre went for it in the reply, Ed Wilkins scoring 58, Toby Horton 50, Rigali 44 and Haines 43, 47 extras helping them to 333 before they lost their last wicket in the penultimate over.

Marshfield maintained the leadership of the Wiltshire Division as they won by six wickets at mid-table Calne.

Batting first, Calne were all out for 210 in the 49th over, skipper Dan Knight leading the way with 42, backed up by Julian Kearney's 32.

Jeremy Bond did the damage with the ball, taking 5-33, while James Williams added 4-49.

The match seemed in the balance with Marshfield at 78-4, but an unbroken stand of 132 between Dave Jenkins (61 not out off 68 balls) and Bond (76 not out off 53 balls)guided them home in the 39th over.

It remains tight at the top with Burbage & Easton Royal just behind in second following their narrow nine-run win at Nationwide House.

Former leaders Great Bedwyn remain in the hunt after squeezing past struggling Devizes by one wicket.

Devizes skipper scored an unbeaten 124 in his sides's 252-7 as Rob Palmer took 3-39 for Bedwyn.

The visitors lost wickets steadily in the reply, but 61 from Palmer, Neil Maycock's 44 and 42 from Chris Blundy got the bulk of the runs before numbers 10 and 11 Alistair Tuttle and Chris Palmer saw them over the line.

Purton skipper Elliot Hill scored an unbeaten 96 to help his side to a seven-wicket win at Winsley.

Aakarshit Gomel and Tom Bowler also contributed with 48 and 44 respectively as Purton (243-3) chased down the home side's 238.

Earlier, Charlie Holton (88) and Jeremy Smith (48) had got Winsley off to a fine start with an opening partnership of 110, but only Stuart Hammond (26) and James Lloyd (38) were able to make further inroads.

Marlborough made it three wins in a row with a commanding victory at home to Trowbridge.

After winning the toss and batting Marlborough made 190-7 off their 50 overs thanks mainly to opener Ben Head's 31 and equally vital contributions from Mike Bush (28) and George Fox (37 not out).

Fox then continued his fine form with the ball bowling a brilliant opening spell of seam bowling, bowling a great length getting lift and bounce as he took 4-27 off his 10 overs.

Head then took 4-13 in front of his watching wife and family as Trowbridge crumbled to 67 all out in the 26th over.

Marlborough were backed with brilliant fielding with Tom Jacques taking a superb one-handed catch while wicketkeeper Guy Clarkson celebrated his return to the side with a brilliant diving catch to dismiss Trowbridge star batsmen Wes Marshall.
