COMMONWEALTH GAMES: Mayes leads England to opening victory

SWINDON'S Anna Mayes has coached England's netball side to victory in their opening clash of the Commonwealth Games.

The former Lawn player, now head coach of the national team, watched on as her charges beat Wales 65-25 this afternoon to take the early plaudits in Pool B. A sterner test in the shape of Australia awaits Mayes & Co later in the group stages.
