CALNE Town chief Simon Gardner thinks that it would have been criminal if his side had failed to earn a point against Cheddar last weekend.

A slow start saw the Lilywhites trail 2-0 but Mark Dolman reduced the deficit before Glenn Armstrong missed from the penalty spot.

Neurin Jones nodded home to level matters and after Cheddar had once again taken the lead, striker Armstrong made up for his penalty miss with a late equaliser.

“We didn’t turn up for the first 25-30 minutes but we deserved at least a point from that game,” said Gardner.

“Jamie Bartlett kept us in it with some great saves - he’s been fantastic so far this season for us - and we’ve done well in the games that we’ve played. We’re just looking to get that win on the board.”
