Under 11 Division 3 SWINDON Rangers, playing up a year got a cracking start to the season. Harrison Crook started the team off with two well taken goals, followed by a superb long shot from Euan Spackman.

League Cup Swindon Supermarine J progressed in the League Cup with a hard fought victory over Croft Blue.

Croft who took the lead after nine minutes but Marine found an equaliser when Luke Legg scored from a free kick as the half ended level.

Croft regained the lead after the break from a superb chip over the Marine ‘keeper.

Supermarine had a chance to pull level in the 52nd minute from the spot but Croft’s gloveman saved Harry Johnson’s effort.

However it was Johnson who equalised, bursting through the home side’s defence to score. Marine had another penalty soon after. Legg scoring the rebound after another save from the Croft ‘keeper.

A goal from Zachary Evans and an own goal saw eventually seeing Marine to the win.

Under 12 Division 1 Highworth Town Juniors H fought back to earn a draw from being 2-0 down against Supermarine M at the break, with two goals from Cameron Hicks.

Division 4 Malmesbury Tornados scored two late goals to put some gloss on their win over Wootton Bassett White. It was a good game which saw both teams playing some fantastic passing and moving football from both sides. The first-half went back and forth with the Bassett scoring first but after 45 minutes it was 3-2 to Malmesbury. After the break Bassett came out and really pushed for the equaliser but it was not to be. Malmesbury made it 4-2 before they went on to score again to increase their score to five.

League Cup Greenmeadow kicked off their defence of the league cup with a 12-0 win against a valiant Malmesbury side. Greenmeadow kept a clean sheet and scored goals via Rowan Doyle (three), Max Whitfield (one), Jamie White (one), Ellis Kerrigan Ritchie (one), Cyril Koomson (two) and man of the match Harry Kearley who scored four.

Under 13 Division 1 FC Abbey Meads Youth started the season off in blistering fashion scoring six goals in the first 20 minutes, Harry Rule opened the scoring after just 50 seconds with a superb free kick.

Two further second half goals and a late consolation for Castle Combe gave Abbey Meads an 8-1 win. The goal scorers for Meads were Brandon Lewis (three), Harry Rule (two), Ben Dodd, Logan Plumley & Jamie Harrison.

Division 3 Shannon King ran the show with superb passing to see FC Abbey Meads Colts to victory over a battling Blunsdon. David Pike scored a superb strike for Meads before Blunsdon hit back. Further goals from Harry Page (two) & Colin Adams, assisted by King, gave Abbey Meads a 4-1 win. There were also good performances from Newcomers to football from Declan Long and Ronnie Collier Under 14 Division 1 Swindon Rangers won their opening game of the season with a hard fought 2-0 victory over Croft. Leading 1-0 at half-time courtesy of a Charlie McCuish strike, Rangers added a second early in the second half through Jack Paines to start the campaign off with a win.

Division 3 Swindon Youth got the perfect start, with an away win against Ferndale thanks to goals from Jacob Brown-Edwards, Alex Parker and Joshua Haynes. Swindon’s Stephen Flower and Nathan Bowler were reliable in goal and Jake Olive put in a man of the match performance. Bailey Gunning scored Ferndale Rodbourne’s goal, which came after Ben Simons produced a wonderful cross and Danny Dullea put in an excellent debut performance despite the defeat.

Under 16 Division 2 Highworth Town Juniors T U16s got their season off to a flying start with a 12-0 home win against Liden Community White at the Rec. Will Lewis and Mitchell Sutton each netted a hat-trick, as well as Aaron Aryee and Aiden Bennett bagging a pair of braces, with Zachary Steel and Ollie Mulraney each finding the net. Sevenfields United went down 7-2 to Castle Combe. The Sevenfields goals came from brothers, Bardley Marvel and captain Aaron Marvel.

Under 17/18 Division 2 Blunsdon started the season well with a 9-0 home win against Avebury FC. Jack Ahrens (four), Lewis Wickens (two), Reece Fenwick (two) and Matty Flannelly were all on target for Blunsdon FC.
