BROOME Manor pro David Howell missed the cut at the Wales Open by one shot.
Going into his second round one under for the tournament, Howell carded three bogeys, one the way out and two coming back, as he failed to make the weekend's play at Celtic Manor.
Heavy scoring at the top of the leaderboard left the Wiltshireman short by one stroke as the cut fell on one over.
The former Ryder Cup winner will now break to cover bi-annual showdown, this year at Gleneagles, before he resumes the European Tour at St Andrews, looking to defend his Links Championship title he won last year.
