Wes Foderingham
Daring with the ball at his feet and made a great save to keep the score at 1-0. He did flap at Flynn’s cross for the Blades' second though. 6
Raphael Branco
Was looking good until Town’s mini-collapse. Could have done more to prevent both of United's goals. 6
Generally solid in defence and good with the ball at his feet. However the skipper has to take charge to arrest any malaise such as the one on Saturday. 6
Jordan Turnbull
Developing a good relationship with Thompson and was probably Town’s best defender, made a vital block after Reeves had surrendered possession late on. 7
Nathan Byrne
Ran at McEveley all afternoon and caused his former teammate no end of problems. A constant menace who seems to be relishing becoming established as first choice at wing-back this season. 8
Yaser Kasim
A much better performance from the Iraqi than on Tuesday, he was methodical and smart in his distribution. Provided the ball and showed delightful feet for Louis Thompson’s cracking fifth. 7
Brad Smith
Demonstrated how devastating his pace can be with a dominant second half display over Alcock. Provided two goals and should grow in confidence after a performance like this. 8
Massimo Luongo
Another who returned to somewhere near his best. He went close to scoring himself after leading a rapid breakaway. The Australian’s driving run for the penalty perfectly demonstrated what he is capable of doing to defences. 7
Louis Thompson
One assist and a cracking goal were the stats, but his all-round game showed why Norwich were so keen to secure his services. The standout player on the pitch. 9
Michael Smith
Two goals will again answer the never-ending doubters but Smith has, and did again, show he is an improved player when tasked with linking the play. 8
Jonathan Obika
Another goal for the mobile striker, this time from open play, it is hard to ask for more. 7
Subs
Andy Williams (for Obika, 65 mins) Another goal from the bench means he could just moving into the dreaded super-sub territory. It was the key strike that ended the Blades' hopes. 7
Jake Reeves (for Luongo, 73 mins) Again showed himself to be an elegant player with some lovely touches. Takes risks but that is what Cooper asks his players to do. 6
Josh Lelan (for Branco, 76 mins) Stepped in capably after Branco’s went off injured. 6
