Swindon Supermarine J were edged out in a seven-goal thriller against Wootton Bassett Blue in Under 11s Division One.

Luke Legg went close early on for Marine before keeper Josh Pickett kept the visitors at bay. The home goalie then pulled off another fine save but was unable to prevent Bassett from taking the lead,with the visitors going on to take a 4-0 lead into half-time.

Following the interval, Legg again went close before Harry Johnson was denied by the Bassett keeper.

Joah Hall saw a volley narrowly miss the target before Johnson skipped through the Bassett defence to open Marine’s account.

After Zachary Evans forced a save from the visiting keeper, Mickey McCann slid in to bundle the ball over the line to reduce the arrears to 4-2.

The hosts then pulled another goal back when Hall picked out Joshua Godwin, who fired the ball home.

Under 11 Division 3

Abbey Mead Rangers secured their fourth successive win to cement their place at the top of the table with a 7-1 win at Wootton Bassett Town Yellow.

In an entertaining first half, Meads keeper Brandon Ricketts kept the hosts at bay, while striker Jack Lampard bagged a hat-trick to help the leaders to a 4-0 lead at the interval.

The visitors quickly added two more after the break, then Bassett grabbed a late consolation goal before Meads restored their six-goal advantage.

Also on target for Meads were Imogen Wilkins, Dejan Broja, Giovanni Pungitore and Nathan Goodenough, while the player of the match award went to Connor Horgan.

Under 12 Division 1

Greenmeadow continued on their unbeaten league and cup run with an 8-0 win over Stratton.

Goals came from Rowan Doyle (2), Ben Cardus (2), Felipe Diaz (1), Harry Kearley (1) and Thomas Lane (1), with man of the match Max Whitfield. also on target.

Division 4

A last-minute winner for Lydiard Youth Black saw them beat Abbey Meads Colts 1-0.

Lydiard had the chance to take an early lead from the penalty spot but were denied by a superb save from Josh Hodson.

Charlie Eustice forced the Lydiard goalkeeper to make several great saves but neither team could get the breakthrough in the first half.

Both teams defended well for most second half with Daniel Wiltshire, Lewis Fisher and Ben Wollen shining in the Meads defence, but they were unable to prevent Lydiard from getting a last-gasp winner.

Under 14 Division 2

TEN-MAN Fairford scored the late goal that their valiant efforts throughout the match thoroughly deserved during their 14-1 defeat to Ferndale Rodbourne.

Ferndale’s scorers were Callum Barrett (4), Afonso Alves Ferreira (3), Dawid Osinski (3), Jason Werrell (2), Kyle Meader-Harris and Xavi Diaz-Butcher.

Ferndale’s Bailey Gallagher and Fairford’s goalkeeper Christopher Harris took the respective player of the match awards.

Division 3

Ferndale were edged out 3-2 by leaders Malmesbury Youth Eagles.

After trailing 1-0, Lucas Peachey and Dan O'Brien both scored to give Ferndale the lead.

Despite Ferndale dominating the second half, including a player of the match performance from Neo Heath, Malmesbury scored two, including a last minute winner.

Under 16 Division 2

Ollie Mulraney’s goal saw Highworth Town T maintain their 100 per cent league record with a 1-0 win against Castle Combe Colts.
