MELKSHAM made a fine start to their Dorset & Wilts One North derby, good handling sending the ball out to winger Luke Jones for the try and captain Callum Hurn converting.

The hosts' Phil Williams, back from injury, gathered the ball from loose play and powered over for the second, Hurn adding the extras.

Against the run of play Chippenham intercepted a pass and looked to be away free and clear, Hurn chasing back to tackle and strip the ball and deny th score.

Melksham continued to apply the pressure through forwards and backs in the second half.

Jack Briggs offloaded to Phil Stone to weave through the defence for another score and then good combinations saw Jones through for his second, Hurn adding the conversion.

Chippenham hit back with a converted try, but the hosts worked their way upfield, the ball finding Prop Simon Watts in support to power over, Hurn slotting the conversion.
