TROWBRIDGE put their hosts under pressure from the kick off in this South West One East clash, forcing them to give away a penalty in front of the posts after only six minutes.

Tom Weaver slotted the kick and both sides showed they were keen to run the ball through forwards and backs.

The breakthrough for Swindon came from a poor defensive kick by the visitors.

Trowbridge fought back and started to take control of the set pieces, pushing Swindon’s scrum and working the ball through the pack until Tom Coombs went over out wide for the first of his two first half tries.

Weaver missed the conversion, but two penalties took Swindon back into the lead.

Once again the lead changed hands when Coombs went over for his second try, but back came Swindon with a try to take the lead into half time.

A poor lineout from the home side just outside their own 22 saw Weaver gather a loose ball and crash through the home defence to score and convert.

Swindon scored again, but Weaver landed a penalty to nudge his side a point ahead.

However, Swindon stole a lineout and, with forwards and backs combining, scored the decisive converted try in the dying moments.
