FROME Town manager Adrian Foster has warned his players that they must rectify their disciplinary problems if they want to climb the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division table.

The Robins slipped into the bottom two following Tuesday night’s 3-1 loss at Burnham, with ill-discipline once again rearing its ugly head as full-back Kris Miller was sent off for two bookings.

Frustrated Foster says that the virtually never-ending stream of red and yellow cards accrued by his players has become a constant source of annoyance and knows that the Robins will never find themselves flying high if they don’t begin to exercise some self-control.

“It’s really getting to me now. I haven’t been able to field the same side once this season because we always seem to have players suspended,” said the Frome chief.

“We’ve had 53 yellow cards and eight red cards. We fine the players and take it out of their weeks’ wages and it needs to stop.

“We won’t be climbing up the table if we can’t keep all our players on the pitch - we’ll be in a relegation battle, which would be embarrassing with the squad that we’ve got.

“I would be asking myself questions if I’d had everyone available all season and we were in this position.”

Dual-registered Ollie Taylor, who has been missing since the start of the season with a broken foot, was on target in the second half at Burnham but the home side netted through Nick Kabamba, Joshua Webb and Kofi Lockhart-Adams.

But striker Taylor hit a brace on Saturday as Frome won 2-1 at Biggleswade Town.

Former Bristol Rovers pro Josh Klein-Davies made his Robins debut as a second half substitute on Saturday, with the forward coming in from Paulton Rovers to replace Mark Francis, who has left to join Chippenham Town.

Foster said: “Josh needs to knuckle down and get that passion back that he used to have when he was younger and we should have a good striker on our hands.”

Defenders Rhys Baggridge and Jack Vallis, and midfielder Matt Smith, all return from suspension for Saturday’s FA Trophy clash with near neighbours Chippenham but Mark Cooper and Brandon Mundy are suspended.
