SWINDON head coach Sean Lynn asked his players to deliver five points and that is exactly what they did when picking up a bonus point success over South West One East basement side Bletchley.

The Greenbridge Road side came into the match following a week’s break and although they took time to get into their stride, Lynn was delighted with the performance.

Swindon scored their tries through Ollie Wilson, Adam Westall - who also kicked four conversions and a penalty - Mike Thompson and Mark Sharp.

The win also banished memories of their November 1 loss to Windsor.

“We asked before the game for five points and the players delivered,” Lynn said.

“We have set the players a target of 10 points this month and so far, we have got five.

“We were a little sluggish at the start because we’d had the previous week off.

“Adam Westall scored a really good individual try while Mike Thompson’s was a good team effort, going through the phases.”

Despite the worsening of conditions, Swindon could be forgiven to trying to keep the game tight and revert to going through the phases but Lynn is keen that his side play their normal brand of flowing rugby.

“You do find you keep it at close quarters when they weather gets worse,” he said.

“But our backs have the level of skill to be able to play an expansive brand.”
