MELKSHAM Town will host league rivals Shepton Mallet in the third round of the FA Vase early next month if they can get past Slimbridge at the second attempt this week.

Darren Perrin’s side will host Shepton at the Conigre on Saturday December 6 but only if they can navigate Tuesday night’s second round replay at Slimbridge, who also ply their trade in the Toolstation League Premier Division, following their 2-2 home draw last Saturday.

Gary Higdon and Ben Thomson were on target for Melksham.

Meanwhile, Bradford Town will also take on league opposition in the next round after being drawn at home to Odd Down.

Paul Shanley’s men needed extra-time to get past local rivals Chippenham Park last weekend, with Mark Wall netting the winner after Chippenham Town striker Alan Griffin, playing on his return to action following knee surgery, headed home to cancel out Jack Hopper’s spectacular opener.

Bradford have beaten Bath side Odd Down twice in the Premier Division already this season.
