ROBINS boss Alun Rossiter admits the task of putting together his 2015 team is a slow process despite two pieces of the jigsaw falling into place yesterday.

Rossiter picked Charles Wright from the tier one group and Lewis Rose from the tier two set of riders at the Elite Riders Draft in Coventry yesterday lunchtime, the duo filling in the two reserve spots in next year’s Swindon line-up.

The Blunsdon team chief declared himself pleased with that outcome, but attention will now turn to the main body of Rossiter’s team, with many of key issues outstanding.

This year’s number one Peter Kildemand has cast doubt on his own participation in British speedway next year, while Simon Gustafsson is taking a break from the sport.

The Advertiser’s Robins’ Rider of the Year Steve Worrall was snapped up in yesterday’s draft by Belle Vue Aces and Australian ace Dakota North’s signing by champions Poole places his return in question.

Swindon are hopeful that young Aussie Nick Morris, who has signed Premier League terms with Glasgow, will continued his top-flight commitments with them next season and that skipper Troy Batchelor will also don their colours again, despite his Grand Prix responsibilities.

Rossiter said: “It’s slow at the moment. I haven’t done any deals with anyone or anything like that.

“There’s nothing planned at the moment and as soon as we get the heat leader and second heat leader sorted out, hopefully things will become a lot clearer.

“I’ve spoken to Peter (Kildemand) about a few things and we’re still waiting to hear.’’ Wright, 26, has been riding for the Somerset Rebels in the Premier League for the last couple of years, helping them to the title in 2013 , and guested for Swindon against King's Lynn in July.

Rose, 25, was a reserve for King’s Lynn Stars until suffering a knee injury while racing for Newcastle Diamonds, who he will race for once again in 2015.

Rossiter added: “I’m pleased with that. Charles Wright had a good year last year. He's a racer and I like what he stands for.

“With the second option, firstly, I didn’t know which way to go but Lewis Rose will do a good job when he comes in.

“I’m a lot more comfortable with this year’s pick than last year’s. The whole thing is a lot fairer and, on behalf of the Swindon club, I’m happy. ‘’ Meanwhile, Swindon have confirmed a full transfer deal has been agreed for Simon Stead to join his hometown club Sheffield.

The 32-year-old spent four seasons with the Robins from 2009-12 and was a member of the team who ended the club’s long wait for an Elite League title in the last of those campaigns.
