HIGHWORTH Town’s love affair with cup competitions continued as they edged past Tytherington Rocks in the Hellenic League’s Bluefin Sports' Challenge Cup second round tonight.
The Worthians, through to the last 16 of the FA Vase, claimed a 2-1 win, Josh McGrory opening the scoring for John Fisher’s men on the stroke of half time.
Tytherington got back on level terms in the second period but Chris Jackson bundled home the winner for the home side.
Struggling Shrivenham’s season hit a new low point as they were walloped 8-0 at Flackwell Heath in the Premier Division.
Chippenham Town's third back-to-back Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division trip to the south west in 10 days saw them go down 2-0 at Truro City.
Truro scored in each half, whilst Chippenham missed a penalty and were reduced to 10 men when Greg Tindle received his second yellow.
Matt Wright and Ed Palmer from the spot, netted for Truro, Town’s Ashan Holgate having a late penalty saved.
