THERE were wins for two Swindon schools at the recent Wiltshire Schools Games Level Three football competition at Stanley Park.
In the girls’ tournament, Holy Cross defeated Lea & Garsdon Primary School on penalties to lift the trophy after their final finished goalless after extra-time.
Elsewhere at Stanley Park, Trowbridge’s Southwick won the small schools event, defeating Holt 1-0 in the semi-finals before doing likewise against St Nicholas in the final.
The large schools winners were Lawn, edging out Kings Lodge 2-1 in a penalty shoot-out in the final.
Abbeyfield School’s young volunteers officiated at the event.

Large schools – winners: Lawn; runners up: Kings Lodge; also took part: St Marks, Bitham Brook, Amesbury, Harnham, Nursteed, Colerne, Aloeric.
Girls – winners: Holy Cross; runners up: Lea and Garsdon; also took part: St Pauls, Southwick, St Marks, Amesbury, Bitham Brook, All Cannings, Downton, Goddard Park.
