SWINDON Wildcats forward Aaron Nell has admitted he is not sure which Sheffield Steeldogs side will turn up tomorrow at the Link Centre.

Swindon have had mixed results against the South Yorkshire outfit, beating them twice but also suffering two defeats to the side that sit two places below them in the league table.

Ryan Aldridge’s side will then turn their attention to league leaders Telford Tigers which will be another tough test but Swindon have been able to inflict two of their four defeats all season.

Nell has said that the Cats will have to start well against both sides and that the games will be good tests going into the business end of the season.

“Sheffield are an up and down team. Some weeks you’ll see them get spanked and then the next week they will beat Guildford away,” he said.

“They are a hard working team and sometimes we don’t match up well with them because they work so hard and they sometimes put us off our game.

“We have to ignore their silly stuff and play good hockey and hopefully get another win.

“We have done well against Telford and we are the only team to do well against Telford I think.

“It is our last game of six and they are not going to want us to beat them in the season series, so they are going to be up for it.

“It is a good test for us because if we are going to want to win the cup or the play-offs then we are going to need to go through Telford.”

Nell put in a man of the match performance against Manchester Phoenix in the first leg of their Challenge Cup semi-final, twice scoring to bring the home side back into the contest.

The 25-year-old is confident his side can get a result on the road to make the final and was impressed by new signing Tomas Kana, who made his debut in Wednesday night’s draw.

“It was probably a fair result in the end but we have been better away from home this year, so hopefully we can go there and play good defence and sneak a win,” said Nell.

“We all believe we can go there and get a win and get to that final.

“He (Kana) looked good out there and reminded me a lot of one of our old imports, Jo Kohut. He skates like him and looks like him.

“It is a big boost for our team. He has got a lot of experience and seems like a good guy and if he carries on he is going to make our team a lot better.

“Henri [Sandvik] wasn’t really up for it anymore and to be fair wasn’t up for it all year so to have someone here who wants to be here and prove themselves is great.”
