HARRY Palmer romped home by more than 11 seconds to claim victory in last Sunday’s Calne SMaRTT Smasher.

Amongst the biggest turnout in the 10k race’s history, Palmer, who also won the senior men’s category as he crossed the line first, claimed victory in 35:09.15, finishing ahead of male vet 40s winner Gary Dunstone (35:20.45), of Chippenham Harriers, whilst Mike Milstead (36:19.30) was third.

Anna Seymour, who races for host club Calne SMaRTT, was the fastest female home in 40:35.70, a comfortable distance ahead of second and third-fastest women Tess Warnes (43:00.25) and Elidih Bell (43:10.60), both from Chippenham Harriers.

The Smasher was also the sixth and penultimate race of the 2014-2015 Wiltshire Off-Road Race League.

Chippenham Harriers went home with both the men’s and women’s team prizes.
