SWINDON Spitfires’ penultimate game of the season in the Wiltshire Women’s & Girls League Under 16 Division against FC Chippenham ended in a 7-0 victory.
With the teams reduced to eight a side, Chippenham defended well and forced Spitfires’ Chloe Mason into a good save before Spits responded by hitting the woodwork twice, including a superb 25-yard half-volley from Katrina Reynolds.
Helena Diaz-Butcher put Spitfires 1-0 up and Charley Reynolds found Amy Connaghan for the second.
Spitfires made it 3-0 when Natalie Goodright laid off for Charley Reynolds, who guided the ball into the bottom corner, and, after the break, Megan Ricketts added the fourth. Poppy Cotterill scored her 10th league goal of the season and then made it 6-0 before Lucy Goodright wrapped up the scoring.
