SWINDON Town chairman Lee Power has revealed that a move to the Premier League for midfielder Massimo Luongo could be just days away.

Reports in the national media yesterday suggested the Australian ace and teammate Ben Gladwin were the subject of a £3.5 million bid by top-flight Aston Villa.

Luongo, 22, is also believed to have been the subject of interest from West Brom, West Ham and Crystal Palace, with it seemingly certain his future lies away from the County Ground followin Town's 4-0 play-off final defeat by Preston on Sunday.

Power revealed "three substantial offers'' were in for the Asian Cup winner and admitted a deal could be wrapped up within days.

“There are a number of offers for Massimo. That's not surprising because he’s been a star for us this year,” Power was quoted as telling The World Game website.

“Something could happen this week … we have three substantial offers in from Premier League clubs and we need to sit down with Massimo and his advisors and decide what to do.

“The numbers being mentioned are around £3 million, which is good money for us and we’ll be pleased with that.

“One day he will play in the Premier League – and it might be as early as next week. We are not going to stand in the boy’s way.

"When I signed him from Tottenham, I promised him he would stay here a year or two and we’d help develop him and help move him back up the ladder.

"He’s kept his part of the bargain and we will keep ours. He’s a lovely kid and he deserves his move, if it comes.”

Aston Villa boss Sherwood has been an admirer of Luongo since they worked together at Tottenham’s academy and also talked up Gladwin's ability in an article for the Independent earlier this season.
