CHIPPENHAM Town captain Iain Harvey reflects on Saturday's 1-0 win, and looks ahead to Saturday's crunch match at Hemel.

IT was a physical game against Cheshunt - they were not the best footballing side and I thought we dominated the first half.

We were a bit nervous because there was a lot at stake. Although results didn't go for us, we didn't know that on the pitch.

They were a big side and some of the challenges were tough. The referee was poor, and although I wouldn't say there is any favoritism, referees in this league make some horrendous decisions.

Whether they are not as fit as the top referees or are not close enough to see what is going on, I don't know. They are bad for both sides.

Getting a result against Cheshunt and getting a result on Saturday at Hemel is all we can do and we can't worry about the rest.

Stranger things have happened, but judging on results on Saturday it doesn't look like it is going to go our way.

We have to rely on Halesowen losing because, even if we beat Hemel, their goal difference is a lot better. We are not going to go there thinking we can't do it, because we definitely can. We just have to do the best we can and hope it is going to be enough.

Kev Halliday deserves his player of the year award. No one has really been head and shoulders above the rest, at the start of the season he wasn't really playing but as soon as he got it he has taken his chance.

He is brave, wins headers, has got a great left foot and a footballing brain and has done well for us. I know he is going to try and get Kye back for pulling his shorts down during the presentation but he probably won't, he's all talk.

We finish the season at Hardenhuish Park unbeaten while Adie has been manager and it gives us something to build on for next season.

That's what he will be thinking. He has got the summer to do what he has got to do but I don't know what his plans are. Hopefully we can then come out of the blocks flying next year because a good start is key in this league.
