THE Federation Team of Swindon Croquet Club entertained their local rivals from Kington Langley, the hosts pulling out some star performances.

In the morning the Swindon pair of John Airey and John Small played Jane Hull and Brian Shorney (Kington Langley) in the doubles game, ending with a plus eight score as time was called.

Mike Graham (Swindon) built on his early lead to defeat John Grimshaw (Kington Langley) 26-0 in less than an hour.

In the afternoon singles Airey played Hull and trailed for the first two thirds of the game but managed to pull out a lead and peg out to win by eight hoops.

Graham played Tim Lacey-Hulbert and claimed a narrow victory as the Kington Langley player, needing to score five points to win got half way there before time was called.

Shorney took an early lead against Small, but Small managed to take a closely-fought contest 26-18. Neil Morrison (Swindon) won both his games against Lacey-Hulbert in the morning and Grimshaw in the afternoon as Swindon completed a clean sweep.
