MORE than a 100 competitors braved Sunday’s weather for the 11th running of the Foxtrot 5 at Broughton Gifford.

Two-time winner Simon Nott, of Calne Running Club, added a third title to his collection by taking victory in 25:28 – just seven seconds outside of his own course record – whilst Avon Valley Runners’ Michael Towler was nearly a minute behind (26:23).

Nott’s clubmate Bart Thomas was third (28:01) to help the Calne club to victory over their Trowbridge-based opponents, ninth-placed Luke Shipway (30:38) providing their third score.

In the ladies' race, Fiona Price, of Avon Valley Runners, swapped the sun of Lyon where she had competed in the World Masters Championships earlier this month, for the rain of Wiltshire to lead home the field in a swift 31:52 on her debut at the event.

Price left regular participant Denise Grech (32:09), also from the Calne club, in her wake, whilst Anita Mellowdew (32:37) was third to ensure that Avon Valley took the ladies team prize.
