LEWIS Haldane has performed a u-turn and returned to the Frome Town fold.

The 30-year-old former Bristol Rovers and Port Vale striker, from Trowbridge, had chosen to step away from playing last month but has decided to make himself available for the Robins once again after Nick Bunyard replaced Adrian Foster as Badgers Hill boss.

Haldane said: “I’m really glad to be back involved and didn’t really want to be away from the lads in the first place.

“Fozzy (Foster) is a top bloke but I wasn’t enjoying my football. With Nick (Bunyard) coming in, everybody gets a clean slate and with a few changes, which will help the squad, I’m hoping the fans will get to see what I’m really about.

“I had a couple of very good offers from other clubs but it’s not all about money and I think we can build something really good at Frome and it’s great that Nick sees me as part of that.

"What is really important is that the fans to get right behind us now and everybody can move forward together, which will only benefit the club - starting with three points on Saturday.”

Meanwhile, winger Aaron Rodriguez has officially departed Frome.

The former Gillingham Town youngster signed a contract at Badgers Hill at the beginning of the current campaign but informed the club that he didn’t wish to play Evo-Stik League Southern football during pre-season.

Rodriguez has now had his contract with the Robins terminated and will join Dorset Premier League outfit Mere.
