WEST Wilts impressive start to the season continued as they thrashed Leominster 5-0 in the GoCre8 Men’s League Conference North at Kingdown School.

After a goalless first half, Wilts took an early lead in the second through Ben Creedy who found himself unmarked at the top of the D.

The floodgates opened, as Wilts added another three goals in quick succession through Mark Brothers and a brace for James Baker.

West Wilts continued to play superb possession hockey, leading to the final goal being scored by David King from close range.

West Wilts A team made the trip to Minehead in Central One, but the trip seemed to have taken its toll as they fell behind as Alex Arnold deflected into his own net.

Wilts started to get control of the middle of the park and a spell of pressure led to Ben Lovell finding the net at the third time of asking.

The visitors looked to push on in the second half but they were rocked by conceding an early goal.

The second equaliser followed after a superb piece of skill by Charlie Dillon.

With the game in the final five minutes, Minehead took advantage of an interception and slotted home what appeared to be the winner.

However, when Wilts won a penalty corner, Phil Jeffries deflected the ball home.

WEST Wilts Ladies clinched an emphatic 7-1 triumph over City of Bath 2nd in their West Clubs League Wessex Division One clash.

Livie Evans scored the opening two goals, the second after an assist from Jess McLean before Sharna Crowe and Millie Cornish combined in midfield for George Garrity to score.

Bath hit back but McLean and Crowe added a deflection before Hannah Cornish notched up the sixth before the break. Crowe added the seventh in the second half.

Corsham Ladies maintained their winning start inWessex Division One as they defeated Devizes 7-0.

There were two goals each from Mel Bessell and Vickie Hathway, plus strikes from Carole Simpson and Lucy Stanley and a first-team debut goal for Sophie Mumford.

The second team won 5-2 against Chippenham 4th in Wessex Division Two, Joan Carpenter with a hat-trick.

Nikki Ford scored a hat-trick and Sally Ford the other in a 4-0 win for the West Wilts 3rd against Corsham 3rd in Wessex Division Three.
