YOUNGSTER Max Cook is to continue his life in the fast lane in 2016 by joining Team Repli-Cast UK Racing for next year’s HEL Motostar Championship season.

Swindon schoolboy Cook was recently crowned 2015 Superteen champion and is to join TJ Toms in the Scott Redding-backed Repli-Cast team.

“I am really happy and excited to be riding for Repli-Cast UK Racing next year in the Moto3 class,” said Cook.

“I’ve known Gary (Dawson, team manager) and the team for a couple of years, as they’ve helped with my racing and have already made me feel like part of the family.

“I’ve also known TJ since I started racing and we’re great mates, so the team atmosphere will be brilliant and loads of fun.

“I hope this winter break is a quick one, as I can’t wait to get my hands on the Moto3 bike and race against some of the best riders in Europe.

“I’m so grateful Gary is giving me this opportunity and I’ll do my absolute best and listen to the team as I’ve got a lot to learn next year, which I hope will mean I’ll progress well in my rookie year.

“I’d also like to thank my old team, KJD Racing, who helped and supported me loads last year in getting me to this point.”

Cook has amassed numerous race wins during his first year in the Superteen Championship, smashing lap records at nearly every track he has competed at on his way to winning the Overall Championship and Newcomers Championship titles.

The 13-year-old wrote his name into Superteens history along the way by being the only rookie to secure pole position and victory at their debut race, and he is also the youngest champion ever in the competition.

As a result of his success, Cook has been invited to take part in the Red Bull Rookies selection event in Spain at the end of the year.

That will see him take on around 100 of the best young riders from around the world, with those whittled down to 10 at the selection event who will then go on to compete in the 2016 Rookies Championship, which supports MotoGP races at seven European rounds throughout the season.

Team Repli-Cast UK Racing will complete its final race of the 2015 season in the next round of the HEL Motostar Championship at Brands Hatch on 16-18 October before beginning an extensive winter of testing and development with Cook and Toms.

The team would like to thank all their sponsors and supporters for their continued loyalty.
